Yoga With a Chair

Classes are limited to 10.  Walk ins are welcome but classes are likely to fill up so registration is strongly encouraged. Register by sending an email to Donna at wildxc@comcast.net

Yoga With A Chair 

Mondays 4:30-5:15 

$12 suggested or “whatever feels appropriate”

Instructor:  Donna Smyth

Have you wanted to practice Yoga, but were concerned about getting down, and coming up from the floor?  If you answered “yes,” this gentle stretch Yoga session may be for you. This practice will introduce participants to poses that can be done with, or in a chair.  We will also have the opportunity to practice simple breath work and meditation.

Bone Builders

Cost:  Free (Pre-Registration is required.)

When: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:30

Classes are limited to 20

Open to Seniors 55 and up

 

The RSVP Bone Builders Program relies upon weight training and balance exercises to protect against fractures caused by osteoporosis by increasing muscular strength, balance and bone density. Exercises will be adjusted to individual needs. 

 

Developed at Tufts University we are happy to bring back this program to Vernon at the GHH Community Center.

Balance and Flow Yoga ​
Resuming September 11, 2025

  • When: Thursdays, 5:15-6:15 p.m.

  • Where: Governor Hunt House Community Center, Vernon, VT

  • What to bring: Yoga mat, strap & blocks (I can also provide those for you!)

 

Suggested: $15/class or $60 for 5 classes, payable upon arrival to your first class; or WHATEVER FEELS COMFORTABLE (truly)

Balance & Flow Yoga focuses primarily on balance, coordination, and body awareness.   This class will also invite participants to connect with the breath in order to move to their “steady edge” to strengthen and challenge both the body and the mind.
